Bob has a degree in art from Calvin University in Grand Rapids, MI. He has pursued photography as an artform from early in his adult life. Although most of his work focuses on subjects from the natural world he is also an opportunist who looks for any subject that he and his viewers might find exciting. He has embraced the expansive palette of the digital era using a computer to aid in the interpretation of his work. He has been awarded five artist-in-residences — Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore, Acadia National Park, Petrified Forest National Park, Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park, and Isle Royale National Park. Currently represented by Synchronicity Gallery in Glen Arbor MI, and has published three coffee Table books — The Best of Sleeping Bear, Awake at Sleeping Bear, and While the Bear Was Sleeping.
